Take your power back through patience

“Life gets very quiet before all the doors open. I’m learning that what can feel like loneliness is actually grace. Rest. Find your strength. It will all change soon.” – L. Lynn.

Life takes patience. It isn’t about finding yourself – it’s about creating yourself. That means self-discovery and self reflection. That’s not typically an easy task, yet it’s been a vital step in my path to healing and believing in my abundance.

I’ve had to empty myself and start over, trusting and knowing that wonderful things were on the horizon for me. I just had to be patient. After all, I am responsible for my thoughts and actions, my happiness and joy, and the mindset I bring to every challenge and situation. Taken in whole, it’s about the energy I send out into the world – it’s my power.

I’ve continued to grow and evolve every day and I’m proud AF about it. I’m sexual. I’m soulful. I’m emotional. I’m spiritual. I’m magic. I’m both light and dark. I’m human. I’m not denying any aspect of who I am. I know a healthy soul is a whole soul. I’m powerful.

One of my favorite spiritual gurus, Dr. Wayne Dyer, once said, “Being infinitely patient means having an absolute knowing that you’re in vibrational harmony with the all-creating force that intended you here. You know that everything will happen at just the right time, at just the right place with just the right people.”

I’ve been on one hell of a journey, and as Wayne Dyer says, it all happens at just the right time. Without my experiences, I wouldn’t be as strong as I am today. In fact, I’m stronger and more powerful body, mind and spirit than I’ve ever been. It really did take patience, commitment and belief in in myself. I’ve taken back my power – and I’ll NEVER let anyone take it from me again!

Believe in miracles, everyday

“We live on a blue planet that circles around a ball of fire next to a moon that moves the sea, and you don’t believe in miracles?” I’m not sure where I read that, but it’s so true. Nature and the Universe are miracles – and if we become more aware, we’ll see miracles every day in our lives.

When I say “miracle,” I’m not referring to the religious sort of saints and popes. I’m referring to the simple ones that come from being grateful and feeling blessed every day. When you approach each day with that mindset, you’ll notice not only miracles but moments of synchronicity and serendipity.

For example, I’m very grateful for where I am now – it’s exactly where I’m supposed to be. Just like the moon, my greatest magic has come from my times of darkness – when I had no choice but to trust my own power. That itself is a miracle!

I’m also quite excited about where I’m going – and who is in my life today. Dope Soul says, “You attract what you are strongly feeling and thinking and this is why a grateful heart is a magnet for miracles.” Those in my life now match my vibration – and actually help me vibe higher.

I’m grateful for letting go and moving on. This has become increasingly easy because I know I’ve fully outgrown certain people from my past. In essence, these individuals aren’t aligned with my energy now. I’m operating at such a high vibration and frequency they can’t keep up. They don’t know how. Miracle.

These are my miracle moments. I see them in my light and dark moments. They happen every day by just slowing down and living in gratitude.

True happiness and joy are the goals

This is not a drill. You can be happy and joyful every day. It’s not pollyanna. It’s the law of attraction and it’s real.

Like attracts like, so when you think a thought, you are attracting like thoughts to you. Your thoughts are magnetic and create your current life. What you think about the most or focus on the most will appear in your life – thoughts become things. If you want to change anything in your life, change the frequency or energy by changing your thoughts.

Nothing can come into your life without persistent thought. To know what you’re thinking, ask yourself what you’re feeling. Emotions are valuable tools that instantly tell us what we are thinking. The feeling of love is the highest frequency you can emit.

Expect what you want. Gratitude and expectation are powerful attracting forces because  they shift your energy and bring more of what you want into your life. Be grateful for what you already have and you’ll attract more good things.

The basic tenets of the Law of Attraction are:

  • Ask the Universe for what you want. Get clear about it in your mind.
  • Believe and act as though you have already received what you’ve asked for. Then, people, events and circumstances align for you to receive.
  • Receive and feel the way you will feel if your desire has manifested. Visualize yourself enjoying what you want – it generates powerful thoughts and feelings then the Universe returns it to you.

Feeling happy now is the fasted way to attract what you want into your life. That house you want is coming. That job you need is coming. That relationship you desire is coming.

Praise and bless everything in the world and you will align with the highest frequency – love. The only thing you need to do is feel good now.

Laughter is healthy for body and soul

Life is not always funny. There are clear physical and emotional reasons to laugh, however. One minute of anger results in toxic chemicals floating in the body for five hours, while one minute of laughter results in positive chemicals that strengthen the immune system for 24 hours. That’s pretty compelling. But there are plenty of other reasons to laugh.

Laughter is healthy for the body and soul. Laughing lowers blood pressure, reduces stress and increases antibodies in the blood stream and makes us more resistant to infection.

Laughter provides us a moment of grace. It can catch us by surprise just as we never expect grace or good fortune when it arrives. And in that grace, we can have a better perspective on our life. It helps us not take ourselves too seriously and helps us stay positive, regardless of the circumstances in our lives. Even when things are as bad as we may think they are, laughter helps create positive emotions and helps us reframe our mindset so we can more easily cope with our struggles and challenges.

Laughter doesn’t permanently solve any problems, but it makes things a lot more bearable for awhile. Laughing at our own mistakes eases tension and stress. When you can help your loved ones do the same, laughter becomes a loving act. Who doesn’t enjoy the laughter of a loved one or seeing them smile?

Laughter can also be a sign of humility and life. Children laugh nearly 100 times more per day than adults do. It’s another reason to look to kids for how to live with joy and gusto!

We’re all flawed and imperfect. Life isn’t always easy. Sometimes it’s hard as hell. Start looking for more ways to laugh – and, regardless of your life situation or circumstance, you can change your outlook and mindset in seconds and improve your health.

“Laugh my friend, for laughter ignites a fire within the pit of your belly and awakens your being.” – Stella McCartney

Healing the mind and soul through tapping and meditation

I’m on a healing journey. It can be day-by-day, sometimes hour-by-hour. All journeys are like that. You go five steps forward only to take three back, and on and on. That’s what makes healing and focusing on your mental health so important – and why it makes you stronger.

Part of getting stronger is pulling inward and being as mindful as possible. For me, perhaps my greatest learning in the past year is how important my mindset is – it’s really the only thing I can control and it completely affects how I see the world and whether I am happy.

How do I pull inward and direct my mindset? There are two tools I use: Meditation and tapping.

First, meditation. Don’t let the word or concept seem bigger than it needs to be. I started meditating in five-minute increments. You can even quiet your mind in seconds through some slow, deep breaths. Meditation can be prayer. It can be simply closing your eyes and breathing through a challenging or negative thought. There are no quick and fast rules about how to do it. What’s important is to turn off technology, go somewhere in the house without other distractions and just spend some quiet time with yourself.

Second, is tapping. This may be a more unknown practice than meditation, but I’ve used it to release stress or a specific emotion or pain. That’s what’s important with tapping – to focus thoughts on a fairly specific situation or challenge that I need to release. I’ve tapped around specific negative thoughts or emotions. Basically, I tap on specific body meridians or pulse points that have been scientifically proven to affect the mind and body. Think acupuncture points. This website has a good explanation of how to do it. Don’t knock it until you try it.

Both meditation and tapping are resources for you to try as you work on your healing. I still use them – as part of my general and mental health. Give one or both a try and see if they work for you. Remember, it’s all about reframing the mindset because that is everything.

Lessons, gratitude and letting go

Life has ups and downs. How you handle those ebbs and flows usually indicates how happy and resilient you are in life. For me, I choose to learn the lessons along the way and be a better version of myself. Sometimes those lessons are hard fought. The keys are gratitude and letting go.

I read something recently about letting go. “Letting go. It simultaneously heals you and kills you.” There is truth in that. I’d add that letting go brings peace. If it doesn’t bring peace, maybe you haven’t learned the right lesson.

I’ve learned a lot about myself in the last year. I’ve grown and changed for the better. My energy and my vibe are so important to me. I preserve them at all costs. Gratitude plays into this. I’m grateful for so much in my life – especially my best friends and my new relationship.

I look back with gratitude. I know I gave my all and loved fully – I can’t regret that one bit. That’s how I love – all in without condition. I wish my prior partners – the one last year and one from 8 years before – only the best. They taught me more about the me I want to be now. I wouldn’t be here without what I learned from those people and relationships.

I hereby let go of my past. I am now moving forward with excitement, hope, adventure and love.

Everyone just wants to be seen

“To be beautiful means to be yourself. You don’t need to be accepted by others. You need to accept yourself.” – Thich Nhat Hanh

Each of us simply wants to matter in this world. We want to matter to those we love and others who are important to us. To matter is to be seen – to be seen for who we really are.

To be seen is to to be heard. We rely too much on our phones and other technology. Often, we’re so distracted by our phones, that we don’t fully engage with others. That’s why listening, truly listening to others, is so challenging. Try respecting whoever you’re spending time with and keep your phones off or in your pocket or purse.

To be seen is to know you’re loved. To be loved is a basic human need. When someone truly loves you, whether romantic partner, family or friend, they appreciate your light and dark. They see your beauty and your flaws. None of that matters when the love is real – because it’s unconditional. Each of us deserves this kind of love in life.

Often, this world wants us all to be the same. How boring! There is no one in this world just like you – you are the only you. Isn’t that wonderful?! Thats’ why to be truly seen is to know you’re worthy. To be seen is to know you are enough, just as you are. Know this and believe this.

Being seen, really seen, is about being who you really are. It’s about love – for self and others. This scripture reading says it all: “Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.”

Stay YOU. This is for every person who looks different, feels different, thinks differently. I see you. I feel you. I am you. Stay different. Our world needs us and the difference we will make.

The moon is magic and so are you

Whether you realize it or not, the moon and its phases affect your life. The moon is a powerful force. It controls the tides, is closely tied to natural human cycles, and represents transformation. The Moon is an eternal reminder that light is ever-present in our lives, even during dark times.

The moon reflects the light of the sun. Its phases reflect our connection to something larger, and to the rhythm of time itself. By attuning yourself to the moon’s phases, you can renew your own energies and align with the Universe. In connecting with the phases of the moon you can also get in touch with your own inner rhythms.

The only constant in life is change. Constantly in flux, the moon is also never the same from one day to the next. Some of the key phases and how it can affect you are:

  • New moon Rest and renew yourself. Set your intention for the next moon cycle. Focus on self care.
  • Waxing moon Check in on your new moon intention and double down on it.
  • Full moon (this week) Act in your fullest power. What bold move or decision are you ready to make?
  • Waning moon Let go to rise higher and let go of what no longer serves you.

A divine symbol of protection from above, the moon is always watching over us. She’s our friend in the night. Embrace the natural rhythms of time, adapt to what comes, and remember that everything — no matter how challenging — is just a phase.

What phase are you in? Do you want to make your life the best it can be and move beyond any challenges. Let’s talk.

Your heart knows the way

Fuck. Valentine’s Day is this week. Even though my love and I never really marked the day (it was mutual), it’s been a difficult day since my heartbreak because it’s a day that celebrates love.

The anticipation of an event like this is far more painful than the event itself. I know I’ll survive the day and get to Feb. 15 ok. But Feb 14 is a source of inner conflict and sorrow for me and this blog is an opportunity for me to be real and raw with you. It’s painful. The day is a reminder that I’m not fully healed and that I still love him and miss him everyday.

So what to do? First, I let myself feel my emotions and not bury them within. I lean into my sadness and let myself cry if I need to. The silver lining here is that I’m in tune with my intuition. I’m also very connected to my heart chakra and believe in the power of love – unconditional, full, deep love. I know I’m worthy of it and fully capable of loving that way. That’s the wonderful reality – and my sadness and pain made me remember this amazing capability of my heart.

After I’ve leaned into my emotions, I then choose to move beyond the pain and change my mindset. Mindset is really everything. Set that and you set your tone for each day. It’s also how you gain control of your energy and project that beauty to the world.

Yes, Valentine’s Day is a difficult day for me. But I choose to love myself first this day – so I can better love others. My heart is alive and well.

What you dream can come true

The words “manifestation” or “law of attraction” are not just trendy words or concepts. To me, they have truly made a difference in my world view and helped me restore my positive mindset.

I’ve talked at length – here and in my videos – about how vital it is to protect your energy at all costs. I believe this because the energy and vibe you put out into the world is like your calling card. It says a lot about you. Also, what you but out comes back to you. You also you attract more of the same energy from others.

This concept of energy is the the basis of the law of attraction and manifesting your dreams.

First, the law of attraction is like a boomerang effect – what you send out comes back to you. In addition to your energy, by seeing each situation in life through the lens of love, not fear, you send out confident and loving energy and others feel it.

Love is the basis for manifesting your dreams. Know you are worthy of love and can make your desires and dreams real. How? Start by focusing on just feeling good. That is a tall order in itself some days, and that’s ok. To help you focus on that feeling, try envisioning what it would feel like to have your dreams come true. Beyond envisioning your dreams, start acting like your dreams and desires have actually happened. Wow – that’s a powerful manifesting practice!.

In addition to envisioning your dreams and acting like your dreams have happened, you also need to trust in divine timing. It may sound counter intuitive to act like your dreams are real but surrender the timing. That’s part of manifesting your dreams and desires. When you let go of the timing and trust the Universe, you can go with the flow. If in manifesting your dreams you block the flow of the Universe, you’re letting the Universe know that you may not trust it has your back. By surrendering the outcome and the timing, however, you let the Universe do its work to make your dreams come true.

In this process, however, be gentle with yourself. It takes practice to exude positivity. When you doubt yourself, it’s ok. Know you are already enough and are worthy of all you dream and desire in your life! And you can make it happen!
